A Life Journey
Almost twenty years ago, I had the opportunity to move to Paris. Initially, I wanted to finish college and to learn French – something I had always wanted to do. I fell in love with France and stayed for a very long time.
At first I thought the French were a little full of themselves, but after getting to know their ways, I realized that they were just very proud of their country and culture. It is possible to forgive them for their issues, because the French do know how to enjoy life… especially when it comes to food. I have never met a culture that put as much care into the creation of beauty and atmosphere around the table, food selection, and care that guests can enjoy themselves as pleasantly and as leisurely as possible.
When an atmosphere like this is created, something magical happens. The music and candlelight help set the tone for the evening. People become filled with anticipation as plate after plate of wonderful food is placed before them. Their everyday thoughts and problems fall away. Champagne and wine elevate the senses as guests debate issues, compare anecdotes and laugh. These meals help form friendships, bonds are strengthened and differences are forgotten. It is truly amazing.
Today, twenty years later, I have moved back home – to Austin. Originally a Jersey girl, I wanted to live in a small city with big city energy, with innovation and character, with taste for diversity and appreciation of international cultures – especially concerning food. When I saw the landscapes surrounding Austin’s beautiful lakes and hills it reminded me of the south of France. I decided I needed to look no further. I had found my new home.
I am a classically trained Chef in French Cuisine and Pastry from the Cordon Bleu in Paris. Although French culinary techniques form the basis for today’s haute cuisine, my strength lies in fusion cuisine. I only use natural ingredients, flavors and culinary techniques from around the world, to introduce anyone with a sense of adventure to a lighter, more diversified style of cooking with plenty of sensuality and boldness. My food will never neglect a single part of your palette.
With the greatest sincerity, I invite you to discover the mystique of a genuine French dinner party, prepared my way. You will be treated with kindness and care, and with the simple change of a plate, I will bring your taste buds to a new level of culinary indulgence.
